Mulund, in the eastern suburbs, had a comparatively low coronavirus case load until Monday, when a sharp increase of 52 was registered, taking Covid-19 cases in the area past the 100-mark. Of the 52 new patients, 45 are from slum pockets. Till April 25, Mulund, which falls under BMC's T ward, had 32 coronavirus cases, which gradually increased to 71 by May 3. But barely a day later, Mulund’s cumulative Covid-19 cases has shot up to 123. Seven of the new cases are from a single family, a trader’s, based in Mulund (East).
